CELEBRATE CAPE COD CANAL DAY WITH US!

Join us for a narrated roundtrip excursion as we travel across the famous Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge and along the canal to the historic village of Sandwich, then to the Great Salt Marsh in West Barnstable before returning to Buzzards Bay. Narration includes history about the building of the Cape Cod Canal.

CAPE COD CANAL DAY

Join the daylong event (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) which takes place on Saturday, September 16th in the recently renovated Buzzards Bay Park. The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce features this event. Admission to the event is FREE and train rides are at a significantly reduced rate. Activities onsite include:

Celebrate Cape Cod Canal Day with us! This special excursion crosses the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge and travels to Sandwich before returning to Buzzards Bay!

Our ONE-hour CAPE COD CANAL DAY EXCURSION TRAINS are departing Buzzards Bay Station on Saturday, September 21st.

This narrated roundtrip excursion departs from Buzzards Bay and travels across the Cape Cod Canal Railroad bridge, then along the canal to Sandwich. Along the way, our narrator shares interesting facts and information regarding the famous Cape Cod Canal as well as other points of interest along the route. There’s no better way to appreciate the scenic views and the history of Cape Cod.

Please note:

*If you wish to sit with friends or family on a different reservation, this request must be made at least 24 hours ahead of departure, at the time of booking as all seating is assigned in advance.

*Onboard snack bar available, outside food and beverages are not permitted aboard the train

*Timely movement of maritime traffic in the Cape Cod Canal takes priority over use of the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge. Therefore, this excursion train may experience a delay in traveling across the bridge. In this event, the train departs Buzzards Bay and heads north past Cohasset Narrows, then travels toward Rochester until the bridge can be lowered for our use.
