As guests soak in the ambiance and relax to the rhythms of the rails, a fresh five-course gourmet meal is prepared and served on white table linens in traditional rail style.
The Cape Cod Central Railroad is bringing together several of the best craft breweries in Massachusetts for this one of a kind event. Each 4-ounce beer serving will be paired with an appetizer created especially for this event by the railroad’s chef. Food pairings will emphasize local ingredients to match the local beers. Brewers will be on board to educate passengers about their beers and answer questions.
This three-hour journey, beginning at 5:30 p.m. from Hyannis, will travel through West Barnstable and Sandwich, then along and across the Cape Cod Canal before returning to Hyannis. View salt marshes and beautiful scenery which can only be seen from the rails while enjoying local brews.

This refreshing, light-bodied American Blonde Ale is smooth and easy drinking. … We say, once you get a splash of Cape Cod Beach Blonde Ale in your glass you’ll always come back for more. ABV: 4.9%
Pairing: Local cheese, crackers, and fruit plate
Mayflower Brewing Company – “Boomerang” – A refreshing Pale Ale with an unfiltered appearance that pours light golden in color. The beer is built on pilsner, pale, wheat, and oats for a pillowy mouthfeel. Boomerang features Galaxy in the whirlpool with healthy dry hopped dose of Australian hops Galaxy and Ella. Because Ella is the little sister of Galaxy, these hops complement each other so that notes of pineapple, lemon, and floral notes dominate making this beer approachable for your everyday drinking. ABV: 6.00%
Pairing: Cape Cod Central Seafood Chowder
Devil’s Purse Brewing Company – “Handline Kolsh” – Their interpretation of a German-style kolsh, mildly hopped with Vanguard. This unfiltered rendition has pleasant aromas akin to lemon zest and fresh cut grass, with a dry finish and a refreshing taste. ABV 5%
Pairing: Arugula, Tomato, and fresh mozzarella salad with a citrus vinaigrette dressing
Cape Cod Beer – “Cape Cod Summer” – A pale, spicy, fruity wheat ale. This traditional Bavarian Hefe-Weizen (wheat beer) is popular in Bavaria during the spring and summer months. This beer style is unfiltered and known for its unique banana and clove flavors, which come from the special German yeasts used in fermentation. It is light and wonderfully refreshing during the hot summer days. ABV: 5.0%
Pairing: Fresh farm-raised salmon, dredged in crushed pistachio nuts and crackers, served with a lemon beurre blanc sauce
Independent Fermentations – “El Citradoro”– A hoppy Saison with lots of citra and Eldorado hops. The juicy character of the hops blends nicely with the spicy dry finish created by the blend of several season yeast strains. ABV: 5.6%
Pairing: Chicken Coq a Vin, topped with a red wine sauce, bacon, mushrooms, and onions, and garnished with French baguette parmesan croutons
Independent Fermentations – “Honey Tripel” – Honey Tripel is similar to a Belgian monastery style tripel but with Massachusetts made honey instead of the more commonly used sugar. Sugar is used in this style to keep the body light and the finish dry. Honey does the same thing but adds some great aromatics. The hops stay in the background to let the honey and yeast-derived flavors come through. The barley and wheat malts are almost entirely Massachusetts made and most of the hops are Massachusetts grown too. ABV: 8.8%
Dessert Pairing: Ice-cream puff profiterole, drizzled with hot fudge and powdered sugar
