Cape Cod Rail Fan Day
Join us for our 4th annual Cape Cod Railfan Day! This special event includes train rides and access to Hyannis Yard where you can view, tour, and photograph various railroad items. Note: The list of specific items available that day will be updated prior to the event.
CONSIST FOR SHUTTLE / TRAIN RIDE: Silvershell, Falmouth, Sagamore, C1’s, powered by back-to-Back FL9’s (2011 & 2026) and MC2014
CABOOSE CONSIST: MCRR caboose (MCCX 10), NYC caboose (NYC 21052), Fore River caboose (FRVT 01 R) powered by MC 2006
Food and Railfan day t-shirts will be available for purchase.
FOOD & BEVERAGES will be available in the following cars:
508-dome, 1394 – dome, Sandy Neck, and Great Island table cars.
Our vintage 1917 Club Car will be open for bar service.
We will once again proudly feature Sea Scoops Ice Cream – Cape Cod’s only hand scooped, local, homemade, ice cream truck! They will feature a special $6 Cape Cod Railfan Day price. Thank you for helping to support a local, small business!

EVENT ACCESS is available either via train rides OR just walk-in yard access through the gate.
Color coded wrist bands will be distributed based on which return trip you purchase. ALL people in attendance will have a wristband which will designate that they have paid and signed a liability release waiver. These will need to be picked up in the tent for walk-ups and will be distributed on the train for passengers riding to the event.
Visitors will have TWO options:
- Admission + Train Ride to the Event (once you purchase a ticket, you will receive a link to select your RETURN TRIP back to your place of origin)
- Admission Only (with option to purchase a train ride to the canal from Hyannis to the canal and back)

- Bourne Station (located Cape side and directly under the Bourne Bridge at Bourne Recreation Area, 169 Sandwich Road, Bourne) – Departing at 10AM, 1:10PM
- Sandwich Station (located at 42 Jarves St, Sandwich) – Departing at 10:15AM, 1:25PM
- West Barnstable Station (located at 2469 Meetinghouse Way, West Barnstable) – Departing TO HYANNIS at 10:40AM, 1:50PM;
NOTE: A trip will be departing for roundtrip train ride from West Barnstable to Bourne & back to West Barnstable (not to Hyannis) at 12:20PM and will return back to West Barnstable at 1:50PM. If you wish to attend Railfan Day event in Hyannis Yard, you will need to purchase admission.

Note: We will be offering a special train ride at noon which will provide an opportunity for those who purchase “Admission Only” tickets to they can enjoy a ride at a significantly reduced rate. Tickets for a ride to the canal and back from Hyannis or West Barnstable are $10/adult 10+up for standard class. Children ages 9 and under ride for free with a paying adult.
Departing Hyannis for a round-trip ride to the canal (or to return to your original departure location):

NEW THIS YEAR: Add on a Roundtrip Caboose Ride from Hyannis Yard to Yarmouth Junction!
There will be a total of four trips offered with very limited capacity (varies from 6-8 passengers per caboose)-

NOTE: This ride is ONLY available to those who have also purchased admission tickets.

- Parking is not included you must find your own parking.
Refreshments:
- Cash only SNACK BAR is available onboard the train rides to and from Hyannis
- Vintage 1917 Cape Codder Club Car BAR will be open from 11a – 1:30p

NEW THIS YEAR!! Join us for a CABOOSE RIDE! Roundtrip from Hyannis Yard to Yarmouth Junction.
This exciting offering has extremely limited capacity. There will be three different cabooses, each with different layouts and capacities.
Trips will depart at:
12:15 PM
1:15 PM
2:30 PM
3:30 PMCabooses are scheduled to be powered by the MC 2006 and will be in the following order:
North end: 2006, MCCX 10, NYC 21052, FRVT 01 R
Prices and information:
MCCX 10 CABOOSE = seats a total of 8
(2) CUPOLA SEATS = $95 each
(2) Individual “conductor seats” one on each end = $75 each
(4) Bench seats = $50


“NYC 21052” CABOOSE = seats a total of 12 adults and 3 children
(2) individual “conductor seats” one on each end = $75 each
(2) seats at a table = $60 each
(2) caboose style chairs = $60 each
(3) seats on a bench = $50 each
(3) chairs = $50 each
(3) kids on bench = $15 each (parent must ride too). Note: These seats are on the lower level of a bunk, so there is limited headroom (hence why these seats are best suited for small children).

“FRVT 01 R” CABOOSE – seats a total of 8
(2) “CUPOLA SEATS = $95 each. These can each hold 1 adult and 1 small child ($15 extra).
(1) Individual “conductor seat” one on end = $75
(4) Seats total at a booth style table (2 on each side) = $60 each
(8) Seats bench seats (4 on each bench – on opposite sides of the caboose) = $50 each *These will be the southern most / northern most on return seats

Notes:
Attendees are responsible for finding their own parking for the event. Each station has limited parking. Those purchasing “EVENT ONLY” tickets will need to locate parking in Hyannis and cannot park at the Engine House or in the rail yard.
